Building Stability. Creating Opportunity.

Families in Indian Land and across District 44 are working harder than ever, yet too many are still struggling to afford the basics. Rising costs and stagnant wages are putting pressure on household budgets and small businesses alike.

Katie Crosby believes South Carolina’s economy should work for working families — not just corporations, and she’s running to build stability, raise wages, and create real opportunity for our community.

An Economy That Works for Working Families

Everything should be affordable housing, healthcare, groceries, utilities, and the cost of simply living and working in South Carolina.

Right now, too many families are forced to make impossible choices: pay rent or buy prescriptions, keep the lights on or put food on the table. Prices keep rising while wages stay stuck, and working people are being left behind.

Katie believes that if you work hard, you should be able to afford a home, raise a family, and plan confidently for the future, and that economic growth should bring stability and opportunity to every family.

Fair Wages and Real Job Opportunities

South Carolina’s job market is growing, but too many jobs don’t pay enough to keep up with the cost of living. Teachers, nurses, and first responders are being priced out of the communities they serve. Young people are leaving the state because they can earn more elsewhere.

Katie will fight to:

  • Raise wages responsibly so every job pays enough to live on

  • Support worker protections and the right to organize

  • Expand access to job training, community colleges, and trade programs

  • Prioritize companies that create real jobs for South Carolinians

No one should have to work multiple jobs to get by.

Supporting Small Businesses and Local Growth

Small businesses are the backbone of District 44’s economy, yet they’re often overlooked while large corporations receive special treatment.

Katie supports:

  • Making it more affordable to start and grow a small business

  • Cutting unnecessary red tape while protecting workers and consumers

  • Providing targeted tax relief, grants, and loans for local businesses

  • Expanding broadband access to support remote work and entrepreneurship

When small businesses thrive, communities thrive.

Affordable Healthcare Is an Economic Issue

Healthcare costs are one of the biggest pressures on family budgets and employers. When people can’t afford care, families suffer, and businesses lose workers.

Katie will fight to:

  • Cap the cost of insulin and other life-saving medications

  • Expand Medicaid and telehealth access

  • Increase transparency in healthcare pricing

  • Ensure insurance covers the care doctors say patients need

No family should go without healthcare because of cost.

Holding Corporations and Career Politicians Accountable

For over twenty years, Republicans have controlled South Carolina state government, and during that time, life has become less affordable for working people.

Katie believes it’s time for leadership that:

  • Puts people before profits

  • Stops giving handouts to corporations that don’t create local jobs

  • Brings transparency and accountability to economic decision-making

South Carolina can grow its economy without leaving working families behind.
